Hudson Valley Bank Privacy Pledge

The banking industry has a tradition of safeguarding customer's private financial information, and we at Hudson Valley Bank are committed to upholding that tradition.

We will always value the trust of our customers and the importance of keeping their personal financial information confidential.

We will use the information responsibly in order to provide our customers with significant benefits, including fraud prevention, improved products and services and to comply with laws and regulations.

We will not reveal any private financial information to third parties for their own independent use unless you tell us to, or unless it is to help complete one of your transactions, or as permitted or required by law.

We will establish procedures to maintain accurate information and respond in a timely manner to our customers' request to change or correct information.

We will require the companies we do business with to abide by our privacy policy to maintain the confidentiality of our customers' information.

We will hold our employees to the highest standard of conduct in ensuring the confidentiality of customer information.

We will use a combination of safeguards to protect our customers against the criminal use of their information and to prevent unauthorized access to it.


HUDSON VALLEY BANK PRIVACY DISCLOSURE
  • We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
    • Information we receive directly from you on applications or other forms. For example: loan applications, deposit account applications, and requests for information about accounts or products and services;
    • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates; or others as a result of providing a product or service to you. For example: information on checks, debit cards, credit cards, automated teller machine (ATM) cards, and electronic transfers such as internet or telephone banking services, automated clearing house (ACH) transactions, and wire transfers; and
    • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

  • We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted or required by law.

  • We are legally permitted to disclose certain personal financial information in the following circumstances:
    • To companies who perform transaction processing for the Bank for transactions, services or products requested or authorized by you; to maintain or service your account; and in connection with a loan securitization, or secondary market sale. This includes financial services companies and other service providers such as: mortgage bankers; insurance agents; appraisers; attorneys; and securities broker-dealers.
    • To disclose information necessary to enforce our legal or contractual rights or the rights of any other person who is engaged in the financial transaction.
    • To disclose information required in the ordinary course of banking business, such as in the settlement of claims or benefits; the confirmation of information to the consumer or the consumer's agent; and the billing, processing, or clearing of items in the normal course of business.
    • To provide information to insurance rate advisory organizations; guaranty funds or agencies; agencies that are rating the Bank; persons that are assessing the Bank's compliance with industry standards; and the Bank's attorneys, accountants, and auditors.
    • To the extent permissible under the Right to Financial Privacy Act.
    • To a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
    • To comply with federal, state, or local laws, rules, and other applicable legal requirements.
  • We safeguard your privacy.
  • We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.
  • If you decide to close your account or your account becomes inactive, we will continue to safeguard your privacy in accordance with the standards described in this notice.
  • We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
  • All of our employees have a copy of this policy and receive annual training regarding the importance of safeguarding customer information. Employees who violate these standards are subject to disciplinary measures.
