The Hudson Valley National Foundation was established by Hudson Valley Bank in 1981 to support worthwhile not-for-profit organizations and projects in the communities
served by the Bank. To date, the Foundation has distributed more than $5 million to hundreds of organizations and projects benefiting youth groups, hospitals, churches,
schools, the handicapped, homeless, cultural institutions and more.
The Foundation raises funds each year through a series of golf outings and a Tennis for Charity Night. With most administrative costs borne by Hudson Valley Bank, the
Foundation donates nearly 100 percent of the funds it raises to charity.
The Foundation supports organizations where it can have the greatest impact. Preference is given to charities and organizations with a local focus. Most grants do not
exceed $1,000. To apply for a grant, charities must submit a letter including:
- The name and address of the organization
- Contact information, including name, address, telephone number and e-mail address
- A list of the members of its Board of Trustees and their affiliations
- A description of the organization, including its mission and programs
- The amount of the grant requested
- A description of how the grant will be used
- Proof of their tax exempt status as a charitable organization, including a 501(c) certificate
Letters should not exceed two pages, but may be accompanied by collateral material.
